as following
As a Divisional
Accounts Officer (DAO)
Duties involved, compilation of Budget &
Monthly Accounts and to advise the DDO in all
matters related to Administration, Accounts
and Establishment on behalf of Accountant
General. The incumbent has also to inspect
the records of Sub-Divisional Offices, Store,
Tools & Plants and to see that registers
are maintained properly.
As an
Administrative Officer
An incumbent has to perform the duties of DDO
and also to act as a Controlling Officer for
all the “Group C & D posts”. He
has to maintain discipline in the Zonal
Offices of Geological Survey of India.
Besides these normal duties, I have also
acted as Store officer, Vehicle in-charge,
Security Officer at Zonal Headquarter, AMSE
Wing, GSI, Ranchi
As an Asstt.
Registrar
Mr. Singh was in-charge of Finance
& Accounts Branch of the Institute for
almost 06 years, with sanctioning power of
Rs. 5,000/- per items. Besides functions
related to Finance & Accounts, Mr.
Singh was also given occasional charge of
“Stores & Purchase Section”,
involved in Crisis-Management and dealing
with Unions. Mr. Singh was also
heading “Legal Cell & Pension
Cell” for about an year, when it was
initially separated from Administration and
Finance Branch as a separate Cell, as per
advice of UGC and MHRD.
As a Deputy
Registrar
Mr. Singh was posted to Finance &
Accounts Section of the Tezpur University,
after my joining at the University. Since
then I was discharging the duties of the Post
of Finance Officer (FO), with a
sanctioning power of Rs. 10,000/- per item.
Since Finance Officer is Ex-Officio Secretary
of the Finance Committee & Tender &
Purchase Committee, I have to arrange the FC
& T&PC meetings. As FO in-charge Mr.
Singh was also member of the various
important Committees. Occasionally Mr.
Singh has been in-charge of the post of
Registrar, which includes turbulent periods
of strikes by Employees Union,
